Invisalign

Using braces to align crooked teeth can be a long and uncomfortable process.

Navid Family Dental Associates offers Invisalign®, a procedure where clear aligners straighten teeth instead of using traditional braces.

Our Peabody, MA, office is outfitted with state-of-the art equipment that will help assess if Invisalign treatment is right for you.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses a succession of clear aligners to straighten your teeth. The aligners are custom molded to your teeth and are typically worn 12 to 18 months during treatment. Most people describe feeling "pressure" throughout the dental process as the aligner treatment moves teeth by applying gentle, constant force. This type of orthodontic treatment is considered more comfortable than traditional metal braces which use metal brackets and wires to straighten teeth.

According to their website, more than 11 million people have used Invisalign to straighten their smiles.

Benefits of Invisalign

Nearly Invisible

People may not even notice that you're undergoing an orthodontic process when they speak to you, even if they're up close. Invisalign aligners are nearly undetectable.

Easy Care

Simply remove the aligner from your teeth when you're ready to eat, drink a beverage other than cold water, or clean your teeth.

Better Comfort

Metal brackets cause irritation and can even break. Invisalign patients don't have to worry about these dental issues with their plastic aligners.

Faster Treatment

If worn as directed, most patients can complete their aligner treatment in 12 to 18 months, making this a faster treatment option.

No Diet Restrictions

Metal brackets cause irritation and can even break. Patients who undergo Invisalign treatment don't have to worry about these dental issues with their plastic aligners.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The cost of Invisalign is comparable to the prices for braces. The overall cost depends on the complexity of your orthodontic needs. Our dentists will work with your insurance to help cover the costs. Our Peabody, MA office accepts CareCredit and LendingClub® financing to help make the costs more manageable. We also offer affordable in-house financing plans to help patients receive the aligner treatment they want and need.

The Invisalign Process

Invisalign works by using a series of clear aligners to gently guide your teeth into proper alignment.

Consultation

During your consultation with our Peabody, MA, office, our dentists will evaluate your smile and determine if Invisalign treatment is right for you. If you have issues like tooth decay or gum disease, these must be addressed first. Your dentist will then develop a custom treatment plan to address your concerns.

Planning

If you're a good fit for treatment, we'll use computer models and the latest dental technology to design all of your unique Invisalign aligners. Impressions are taken of your teeth and mouth in order for Invisalign technicians to craft your custom aligners. Once these arrive back at our Peabody practice, you can begin wearing the first in the series.

Regular Checkups

Every few weeks you will switch to the next in your series of aligners. As you proceed through the process, our dentists will monitor the progress of your treatment and address any concerns. You are encouraged to reach out to us in between these checkups if you have questions.

Final Steps

After using your last set of trays, our dentists will assess your new smile. If we are happy with the outcome, treatment is considered complete. For minor misalignments, Invisalign Express may be an option, where the final results can be achieved in six months or less. If you wish to consider other treatments, we can consider other additional treatments.

Caring For Your Aligners

Maintaining your Invisalign aligners is easy because there are no bulky metal wires and brackets to brush and floss around. Follow these easy steps to keep your teeth and aligners clean:

Remove Aligners Before Eating

Take out your aligners before you eat or drink. This prevents damage to your Invisalign trays.

Use a Case

When you aren't wearing your clear aligners, be sure to place them in a protective case to prevent them from becoming lost or damaged.

Clean Your Teeth

Brush your teeth before you place the aligners back in your mouth. If you cannot brush, rinse your mouth and aligners before you put them back. Remember to maintain proper oral hygiene throughout treatment.
